Chancellor Baptist Church is an amazing place for so many reasons, but the biggest reason of all is because of our people. Our staff and our members truly make CBC a church family!
I have had a relationship with Jesus since I was a child, but I was called into ministry at 18 years old when God plainly said ‘follow me’ towards a life of ministry. What an adventure following Jesus has been! I received my undergraduate degree from Gardner-Webb University in Christian Education, and my Masters of Divinity from the M. Christopher White School of Divinity in Pastoral Care and Counseling. I have worked in a variety of ministerial positions in several churches in North Carolina before being called to Virginia.
God was not silent when it was my time to move to Fredericksburg. I knew immediately Chancellor Baptist was home, and though I have only been here a short time my family and I love the CBC family!
For the past 10 years I have also been leading mission trips to Guatemala, working in several locations such as San Juan de Pelima, Patzún, and in the Guatemala City Dump community.
When I am not at church you may find me out enjoying a nice cup of coffee, fishing, or enjoying an adventure with my family.
Larry Jimenez studied Communications at George Mason University, and earned a Master in Theological Studies at John Leland Center for Theological Studies. 2006 was a significant year for Larry because it is the year in which he became a pastor for the first time; and also because it is the year he married his best friend, Kathy. Larry and Kathy are proud parents of Jeremy Joel and Abbygail. Larry became the Asssociate Pastor for Spanish Language Ministries at Chancellor in 2014 and the Associate Pastor for Discipleship in 2019.
Wanda Tuck is the Director of Children's Ministry at CBC. The kids just call her Ms. Wanda. Some of her favorites are the beach, singing, playing games, nature, and trying new foods. Wanda has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Southern Wesleyan University, and has loved working with kids since “like forever”. Wanda really wants kids to know the joy of loving Jesus from an early age. She enjoys spending time with her husband, their grown sons, and their teenage daughter.
"If I had one super power, it would be to fly, because God has created such an amazing world that I want to see it all!" - Wanda Tuck
