Chancellor Baptist Church is an amazing place for so many reasons, but the biggest reason of all is because of our people. Our staff and our members truly make CBC a church family!
On June 1, 2020, Jim began serving as the church’s Transition Pastor. He brings experience in hospital chaplaincy, health care administration and transitional ministry. His ministry interests are in spiritual and emotional health and he is called to work with congregations in transition. Most recently he completed the Strategic Transition Education Program offered by The Center for Healthy Churches.
In 1983 Jim and his family moved to the Fredericksburg community for him to serve as the first chaplain of Mary Washington Hospital. In 2003 he returned to full-time ministry. Jim and his wife have lived in the Fredericksburg area since 1983 except for three years.
A native of Maryland, Jim is a graduate of Carson-Newman University (BA in Religion & Philosophy), the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.Div.), Union Theological Seminary (D.Min.) and Averett University (MBA).
Jim enjoys sports, traveling, reading, movies and music.
Larry Jimenez studied Communications at George Mason University, and earned a Master in Theological Studies at John Leland Center for Theological Studies. 2006 was a significant year for Larry because it is the year in which he became a pastor for the first time; and also because it is the year he married his best friend, Kathy. Larry and Kathy are proud parents of Jeremy Joel and Abbygail. Larry became the Asssociate Pastor for Spanish Language Ministries at Chancellor in 2014 and the Associate Pastor for Discipleship in 2019.
Wanda Tuck is the Director of Children's Ministry at CBC. The kids just call her Ms. Wanda. Some of her favorites are the beach, singing, playing games, nature, and trying new foods. Wanda has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Southern Wesleyan University, and has loved working with kids since “like forever”. Wanda really wants kids to know the joy of loving Jesus from an early age. She enjoys spending time with her husband, their grown sons, and their teenage daughter.
"If I had one super power, it would be to fly, because God has created such an amazing world that I want to see it all!" - Wanda Tuck
