In the early 1970s, Spotsylvania Co. was a quiet, rural area, but great change was coming! The Missions Committee of the Fredericksburg Baptist Association studied the county’s plans for growth and developed a strategy for responding. Twelve acres of land were obtained on Gordon Rd. with the expectation that a new church building would someday be placed there.
In 1988, a wave of growth had begun in Spotsylvania, and people started to work toward fulfillment of the vision of a new church. On September 11, a group of 24 people gathered in a home to worship together for the first time. The group grew quickly and had to move to another location. The church continued to grow, and in 1991, groundbreaking was held at our current site on Gordon Rd. Construction of a church building was completed a year later.
